After a decade-long recording hiatus, tenor man Ike Quebec returned to his friend Alfred Lion’s Blue Note label with Heavy Soul. On this cut, Quebec and bassist Milt Hinton blend sax and bass in an instantly memorable, deeply soulful rendition of the old standard.
