Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers - Just Coolin’ (1959)
This double LP has become a gold standard by which to measure all live jazz. The telepathy, virtuosity and rapport on display here does not occur very often, even among the best musicians. On this particular date everyone is on, especially Morgan and Mobley, who sizzle, especially during the insane two-horn fills at the end of this memorable Mobley cut.
